The third issue of Est, an Australian online-magazine is just out. I love Est! It features fantastic homes from around the world, beautifully shot and styled, interesting articles on design, artists, fashion, restaurants, travels etc. I strongly recommend a visit to Est and look very much forward to see more online "copies".

Tamizo Architects-Loft in Lodz

Mies var der Rohe´s mantra "Less is more" is the philosophy driving Tamizo, a Polish project group where the emphasis is on architecture and interior design. One of the group´s many successful projects, is this loft apartment in Lodz, Poland. The details that particularly appeal to me in this apartment, are the white, brick walls with the beautifully arched windows, the herringbone hardwood floors and how these elements mix effortlessly with the elegant minimalism, found in the interiors and choice of furnitures.

Apartment in Grünerlökka, Oslo

Grünerlökka is a vibrant neighborhood in Oslo, dotted with cafés, parks, pubs and shops. It´s also a very popular area to live in, with buyers fighting for the Grünerlökka´s properties that come on the market. This lovely apartment is one of the interesting apartments, located in this exciting area of Oslo.

Moroccan wedding blankets

Traditional handmade Moroccan wedding blankets, Handiras, are given to Moroccan brides on their wedding day. It´s role is both ceremonial as well as practical; the rug is a gift of good luck and blessings for the bride but also used to wrap around her on her way to her new home. The rugs are traditional Berber rugs, usually made with sheep´s wool and decorated with sequins. I think Handiras are so beautiful, draped over beds, hung up on walls or used as floor mats.
